Sprng Ojas, Tata Power Renewable Energy, ReNew Solar Power and TEQ Green Power IX (O2 Power) have been declared winners by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd (RUMSL) in the auction for the development of 750 MW of grid-connected wind-solar hybrid energy projects in Madhya Pradesh.
RUMSL is a joint venture between the Solar Energy Corporation of India and Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam.
Sprng Ojas, Tata Power Renewable Energy and ReNew Solar Power won 160 MW, 200 MW and 300 MW respectively, all at a rate of Rs 3.03 ($0.038)/kWh. O2 Power had made an offer for 150 MW but was awarded 90 MW at Rs 3.04 ($0.038)/kWh.
The project is to be designed to supply power to a substation of Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company (MPPTCL).
The tender was launched in April this year and received a good response, being oversubscribed by 530 MW. It was the first wind-sun hybrid tender issued by RUMSL. It had previously launched tenders for solar and floating solar projects.
The successful bidders will be responsible for purchasing network connectivity with MPPTCL. They must also make agreements about the discharge and injection of excess power at the interconnection points, as agreed with distribution companies (discoms). They bear the costs of a special line, including the costs of construction, maintenance and losses from the project to the point of delivery.
