Amp Energy India plans to produce 1.2 GW solar cells and modules through a joint venture in partnership with Websol Energy Systems.
“Amp Energy plans JV with Websol Energy to produce 1.2 GW of solar modules and cells. It is proposed to set up the (module and cell) unit in a JV venture in which Websol will have 51 percent and Amp Energy the 49 percent will keep. cent," it sounded.
The companies have already entered into a term sheet for the establishment of a JV for the production of monocrystalline PERC (Passivated Emitter and Rear Contact) solar cells and modules in two phases of 600 MW each at Websol's existing unit in Falta in West Bengal.
The term sheet is subject to agreement between both parties on certain commercial terms and definitive agreements, according to the company statement.
Amp Energy India is an independent renewable energy producer with a total portfolio of more than 2 gigawatts (GW) spread across 15 states in the country.
