The private sector companies are planning to invest nearly Rs 190 billion in the state's green energy industry which will greatly improve the renewable energy roadmap in Uttar Pradesh.
These include investment proposals from Greenco Group and JSW Group for various renewable energy projects for a total of approximately Rs 130 billion and Rs 59 billion respectively. The UP government has never before had such large investment offers in the embryonic domestic green energy sector.
The state is working towards the Center's overarching goal of 450 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy capacity and 500 GW of non-fossil energy capacity by 2030. It is part of India's commitment to achieve its global green energy and environmental goals.
