Vedanta’s aluminium output up by 2 per cent

Mined zinc production in India increased 3 percent to 255,000 tons in the July-September quarter, compared to 248,000 tons in the same period of the previous fiscal year. Better grades and higher cutter recoveries boosted performance. According to the company's statement, mined metal production increased 8 percent year-over-year in the first half of the year as a result of an increase in ore production, which was further supported by better grades and improved operational efficiencies. In line with the increase in Gamsberg, South Africa, the company's total international zinc production increased 35 percent year-over-year and 9 percent quarter-on-quarter to 74,000 tons. During the quarter, the company's overall average gross production declined 15 percent year-on-year to 140,471 BOE/D in the oil and gas segment.
