Caterpillar's next-generation small dozers – D1, D2 and D3 – now feature an enhanced suite of driver assistance technologies and are factory-ready for remote operation.
Updated operator technologies on offer include Stable Blade Lift and Tilt, Blade Load Monitor, Slow Slip Traction Control and AutoCarry, said Derek Furr, product application specialist for Cat's Building Construction Products Division.
In addition, the three dozers can be equipped with an option for remote-control Cat Command for dozing, plus additional mounting features and harness routes to streamline the installation of third-party graders.
The easy-to-use features of Cat operator assist are available on the D1-D3 bulldozers. Dealer Command dozer installation kits are now also available, and machines in the field can be retrofitted with the technology.
“Any next-gen bulldozer, anything from August 2020 or later, can be equipped with the technology from both the operator assistance functions and the Cat Command functionality,” said Furr.
The range of driver assistance technologies on the small dozers is an extension and improvement of the existing technology.
“The features provide a common technology solution for Cat medium dozers and are compatible with third-party systems for greater flexibility,”
Furr noted that the new Blade Load Monitor, Low Slip Traction Control and AutoCarry are integrated into Cat Grade 3D with Assist.
