Vedanta Aluminium, India's largest producer of aluminum, gave a technical masterclass on ways to improve the productivity of the extrusion industry, with nearly 300 participants from nearly 60 leading players in the extrusion segment, from India, US, UK, Portugal , Greece , Australia, Israel and many more countries. Extrusion is a process used to create objects with a fixed cross-sectional profile by pushing material through a die, providing excellent surface finish and considerable freedom of design in the design process.
The masterclass was led by one of the world's leading extrusion experts, Jonathan Pangborn, who serves as Billet Extrusion's Technical Advisor to the company's Customer Technical Services (CTS) cell. The masterclass was part of Vedanta Aluminum's offerings for customers, including new product development, new application development, market development, knowledge and technical expertise, and more. Students from India's leading technical universities and institutes also attended the session.
Aluminum is today the second most important metal in the world, with unique properties such as high strength-to-weight ratio, exceptional design flexibility, corrosion resistance, electrical conductivity and perpetual recyclability.
