Indian corporate entities Vedanta Aluminum and Jindal Stainless will build production parks near their production facilities in Odisha and Essar Capital. It will spend more than Rs. 500 billion in the region, the companies said in separate releases. The announcements were made during the Make In Odisha 2022 conference, which is now taking place.
Vedanta Aluminium, the largest producer of aluminum in India, would enter into a joint venture with Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corp. (IDCO) to set up an aluminum farm near its primary smelter in Jharsuguda.
Companies using aluminum in their products can base themselves in the 253-acre park and source molten aluminum from Vedanta's 1.75 million-ton-per-year smelter. This will help these companies save energy by eliminating the need to remelt aluminum purchased as solid plates or bars.
