Visaka Industries' Rs 1.3 bn plant would be operational in West Bengal

Building materials manufacturer Visaka Industries announced August 2023 as the opening date for its Rs 1.30 billion plant in West Bengal. With the completion of the project, 3.5 lakh tons of eco-friendly boards and panels would be produced annually.

This will be the first such facility in the eastern state and Visaka's fifth cement fiber board plant overall.

With an investment of Rs 1.3 billion, the factory, due to open in Paschim Medinipur district in August next year, would become their second production facility. The first factory for the production of cement roofing panels was built there in 2003.

The initiative will provide immediate employment for 500 people in the Salboni area.
