Leading tire manufacturer JK Tyre & Industries will soon introduce its line of intelligent truck tires, which is expected to extend tire life by at least 10% while saving truckers some money.
These intelligent tires will be equipped with a sensor-based tire pressure monitoring system that enables real-time smartphone application-based notifications for inflation and temperature exceedances.
Smart bands' built-in sensors can detect changes in temperature or pressure and, in response, send notifications to their app, which are displayed on the screen of a mobile device.
Tire eruption is usually caused by a shift in temperature or pressure. However, not just one tire on the wheel would experience a tire break; both do. Therefore, the two tires for that wheel need to be replaced for about 50,000. It will significantly reduce the truckers' profits because it is such a large amount. These smart tires with sensors help maintain tires efficiently.
The greater fuel efficiency of these smart tires also results in a small reduction in fuel costs, fewer breakdowns and a real-time asset tracking system to prevent tire thefts.
These tires are currently being tested by a few fleets, and the company plans to introduce them at the beginning of the upcoming fiscal year.
These intelligent tires for passenger cars have previously been introduced by the company. The company already had this technology for tubeless tires. It has since developed a method that allows the sensors to also function with tube tires.
