BMC's review petition rejects, orders refund of property tax

According to the Capital Valuation System, the Supreme Court ordered the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to re-evaluate the capital value of each property in Mumbai and reimburse residents who paid property tax over the years 2010 through 2012. (CFS).

This comes after the Supreme Court rejected the BMC's request for review, according to sources against a 2019 Bombay High Court ruling.

The BMC was tasked with creating new rules and issuing new bills after the supreme court overturned it some of the rules she had drawn up for retroactive tax assessment.
