PGCIL receives Global Gold Award for their CSR efforts

The Green Organisation has awarded the Global Gold Award to Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL), a Maharatna CPSU of the Indian Ministry of Power. The award was presented in Miami, USA, Green World Awards 2023 event. On behalf of the company, Dr VK Singh, Director (Personnel), POWERGRID, accepted the honor.

The recognition of POWERGRID's CSR efforts to improve agricultural productivity and rural livelihoods in 10 villages of Jaipatna Block of Kalahandi District in Odisha through better crop management practices, community engagement and watershed management. This project, which will focus on farmers for 60 months, was launched at the end of October 2019 and has a withdrawal strategy to maintain its sustainability. POWERGRID emphasizes its participation in numerous CSR initiatives for the environment and the community.

Power Grid focuses on community participation through effective collaboration, capacity building and sustainability in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Grid has a well-defined and tailor-made exit policy for its CSR projects.
