Shree Cement has announced its plans to increase its production capacity and establish a new grinding facility in Bengal. Their goal is to reach a production capacity of 80 million tons (MT) by 2030.
It has been revealed that the company will carry out four projects, adding a total of 10.5 MT of cement capacity. These projects require investments ranging from Rs 55 to 60 billion.
The locations for the new plants are Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Karnataka and Bengal, particularly in the Sankrail-Kolaghat area. Shree Cement has already applied for government permits for the land in these areas and will begin work once they receive approval.
These four upcoming units will complement the three plants the cement giant, headquartered in Calcutta, is currently building. The existing plants are located in Purulia (Bengal), Nawalgarh (Rajasthan) and Guntur (Andhra Pradesh).
Once all projects are completed, Shree Cement's total production capacity will increase from the current 46.4 MT to 55.9 MT. The Purulia plant in West Bengal, which includes a three-MT grinding unit, is expected to be completed within the next 10 days.
Upon completion, the company will have a total grinding capacity of 5.5 MT.
