Ultratech Cement, India's largest cement and ready-mix concrete company, has achieved the top position in sustainability within the Infrastructure and Engineering sector. This recognition was given by Sustain Labs Paris and BW Businessworld's India's Most Sustainable Companies list for the period 2022-2023.
An improvement has been observed in Ultratech's overall position in the list of most sustainable companies in India. Previously, the company was ranked 15th in 2021-22, but the company has now moved up two positions to 13th rank in 2022-23. This progress reflects the remarkable progress Ultratech has made in its key areas of sustainability focus, including decarbonisation, circular economy, energy transition, water conservation and biodiversity management. In addition, Ultratech has been actively involved in community development initiatives.
The ranking was announced at an awards ceremony that took place in New Delhi on June 20, 2023. Sustain Labs Paris conducted extensive research to evaluate the sustainability performance of India's 500 largest companies based on revenue for fiscal year 2023, using the SLP Sustainability Cube framework. Based on this research and the discussions of a respected jury, 200 companies were voted India's most sustainable companies for the period 2022-23.
