Shree Cement, one of the country's leading cement companies, announces the start of pilot production at its new 3 MTPA capacity cement grinding unit in the Purulia district of West Bengal.
The company marks its first production facility in West Bengal to be built using state-of-the-art technology and facilities. The total investment is approximately Rs 550 crore, which is fully funded by the Group's internal accruals. This is one of many new investments that Shree Cement Group has announced in the recent past.
This new plant will provide Shree Cement with a strategic advantage to meet the growing demand for cement in the states of West Bengal and Jharkhand. This facility will help in faster and efficient cement deliveries to its customers and is capable of producing different product variants. The green-field plant has started pilot production to support the company's existing strong volume growth in East India.
Commenting on this development, Neeraj Akhoury, Managing Director, Shree Cement, said: "I am delighted to announce the start of pilot production at our Purulia plant, which will help us strengthen our presence in the fast-growing West Bengal and Jharkhand markets.
