2 cement companies join BSL for slag procurement

The slag generated during the steel production process at Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), which is part of the Steel Authority of India, is currently experiencing significant demand. This demand mainly comes from the cement industry. This industry has shown a great interest in obtaining slag from BSL.

The by-product of iron production in a blast furnace, known as blast furnace slag, is a crucial resource for the cement sector. Two well-known names in the cement sector, namely Ultra Tech Cement and ACC, have signed a sustainable agreement with BSL to acquire BF slag from them.

Dalmia Cement is an existing customer of BSL for the purchase of BF slag. According to sources, BSL's annual turnover of snails is Rs 1.5 billion.
