.Addressing him at the inauguration, Chief Minister Banerjee said: “This significant investment not only strengthens the industrial landscape of our state but also reflects the growth potential of the cement sector in West Bengal. Shree Cement's commitment to excellence and sustainability aligns perfectly with our vision of a prosperous state. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact this will have on the economy and employment in our region."
On the occasion, Hari Mohan Bangur, Chairman of Shree Cement Ltd, said that the inauguration of this plant in Purulia will strengthen the company's presence in the fast growing market of West Bengal. He added that the organization is committed to establishing another similar factory in West Bengal.
“Shree Cement Group has consistently demonstrated its commitment to growth through a series of strategic investments, and this new plant is a testament to that commitment. This venture will not only create employment for the region but will also enable us to enhance our manufacturing capabilities to efficiently meet the growing needs of the West Bengal market,” Bangur said.
This new plant will provide Shree Cement with a strategic advantage in meeting the growing demand for cement in the states of West Bengal and Jharkhand. This facility will help to better tailor the group's cement supplies to its customers and increase its market share in the fast-growing market of eastern India. The new factory has started production after already strong volume growth in recent months.
This plant increased the group's total cement production capacity to 50 MTPA capacity in India. Shree Cement is relentlessly pursuing its goal of reaching a production capacity of over 80 million tons in the coming years. With the start of production in West Bengal, the company's total number of cement manufacturing plants in India now stands at 15.
