K&R Rail Engineering, a Hyderabad-based EPC company, has signed an MoU for execution of the world's longest ropeway project in the country of Nepal with Muktinath Darshan, concessionaire of the Government of Nepal. The cost of the project is estimated at $500 million and will connect the Muktinath temple sanctuary in Gandaki province of Nepal.
Kalra, Chairman of K&R Rail Engineering, said, "The Government of Nepal has given all necessary approvals for the project and K&R Rail Engineering will execute the 84.32 kilometer project, the longest proposed passenger ropeway in the world."
The project will have twenty stations, including nine mandatory entry and exit stations, eight optional and three technical stations. This project will facilitate hundreds of thousands of devotees to traverse elements at a height of 3,700 meters every year to reach the Muktinath Temple.
