Chennai-based SRM Group has launched its new cement division. SRMPR Cements was launched at a dealer meet at Guindy Ramda Hotel by SRM Chairman Ravi Pachamuthu and SRMPR Brand Ambassador Indian actor Sathyaraj.
The company has invested heavily in state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and is entering the cement market with Portland Puzzolana Cement (PPC). It will soon produce a wide range of cement products, including ordinary Portland cement (OPC) and high-quality cement. The company will also focus on sustainable building materials, such as white cement and cement for other applications.
“Our brand value under the SRM brand is very strong. It was a natural extension for us. Also, cement as a business is seeing good demand in the state due to the numerous infrastructure projects being implemented,” Pachamuthu said.
Ohm Prakash, CEO, SRMPR Cements, said, “We have built a strong presence in the cement sector with 100 dealers and three cement plants in South India. Of the three factories, two are in Tamil Nadu and one in Andhra Pradesh. Currently the total capacity is 420,000 tons per year.”
SRMPR will increase the number of dealers in Tamil Nadu in the coming months. "We will expand to other states and expand our production capacity to 10 million tonnes per annum in the next three years," Prakash said.
