Vaishnavi Group has expanded its partnership with Manipal Hospitals to develop a custom-built hospital in south Bengaluru.
Spread over a built-up area of 3.3 million square feet, the tertiary care hospital is designed as a world-class hospital with 250 beds.
The project is called Vaishnavi Sushrutha, after the Indian surgeon Sushrutha. Construction of the customized hospital, located on Kanakapura Main Road, began in March 2022 and will be completed in December 2024.
Darshan Govindaraju, Director, Vaishnavi Group, said, “The needs of the medical and wellness industry have evolved over the years.”
According to a report by global real estate consultancy CBRE, titled 'The Evolving Indian Healthcare Ecosystem', India will need an additional 1.3 billion square feet of healthcare space by 2030. The country will need 2.9 million additional hospital beds to reach the global average current 3.2 million. beds per 1,000 people.
