World Trade Center NDITA signed an MoU with the World Trade Centers of Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi and Noida during the Urban Infrastructure session at Biswabanga Mela Prangan of the Bengal Global Business Summit, 2023, to explore opportunities to improve trade and investments. in West Bengal and the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Delhi. By the way, Merlin Group is developing the first World Trade Center (WTC) project in Salt Lake, West Bengal.
The MoUs were signed and exchanged between Sushil Mohta, President WTC NDITA and President Credai West Bengal; Vineet Verma, MD, WTC Bengaluru, Chennai and Kochi; Vijay Kalantri, president of WTC Mumbai; and Amrit Lal Batwal, Senior Manager, Trade and Related Services, World Trade Center India, representing 13 centers in the North West Region, in the presence of Firhad Hakim, Minister of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs and Housing, Government of West Bengal.
Mohta said: “We will build a WTC in Nabadiganta, Salt Lake, a 4 million square meter facility that will consist of offices, shops, hotels and WTC facilities including exhibitions, conference halls and facilities. There are approximately more than 300 WTCs in 90 countries.”
Kalantri said, "The MoU will help promote the objective of BGBS (Bengali motto is Bengalis doing business)."
Earlier this year, the World Trade Center Association (WTCA) joined forces with Merlin Group to develop a WTC and the licensing agreement was exchanged between Scott Wang, vice president of WTCA, Asia Pacific region; Sushil Mohta, along with Saket Mohta, MD, Merlin Group.
