The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) plans to acquire 6,000 hectares of agricultural land for developing a city near the Noida International Airport. This new city will be developed along the Yamuna Expressway, further boosting the connectivity and infrastructure in the region.
Yeida has allocated Rs 14,000 crore to acquire 6,065 hectares of land over the next two years. This land will be utilised for the establishment of new sectors, civic amenities such as roads, sewers, parks, and the development of industrial cities. Out of the total land, 1,609 hectares will be purchased directly from farmers via mutual agreement, 4,076 hectares will be attained through the land acquisition process, and the remaining 380 hectares, which is government-owned, will be reclaimed.
The authority will acquire land from 40 villages using various methods including direct purchase from farmers. The land includes 994 hectares in Rabupura, 479 hectares in Tirthali, and smaller areas in other villages. The new sectors to be developed are numbered 5 to 11, while land will also be acquired for the remaining areas in Sectors 22E, 28, 29, 32 and 33. Additionally, 712 hectares will be acquired for the Tappal-Bajna Urban Centre, and 528 hectares in Dorpuri and Syarol villages for a logistic park. The process of acquiring land from four out of six villages in Sector-10 is already underway, and proposals for acquiring land in Tappal-Bajna and for Sectors 5,6, 7 and 8 have been submitted to the government.
