Shri Atul Bhatt, Chairman & Managing Director, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), is said to have expressed his sincere gratitude to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu, for his visionary leadership in facilitating the extension of the Garbham Manganese Mine lease to RINL. This extension is seen as a significant milestone for the company as it ensures the continued availability of manganese ore required to meet its production requirements. Shri Atul Bhatt also expressed his sincere gratitude to Shri Palla Srinivasa Rao, Hon?ble MLA of Gazuwaka, Visakhapatnam, and President of the Telugu Desam Party, AP, as well as to Shri M. Sri Bharat, Hon'ble Member of Parliament for Visakhapatnam, for their tireless efforts in advocating this issue. He acknowledged that their support and active involvement were crucial in securing this vital resource for RINL and thereby reinforcing the company's commitment to contributing to the growth and development of the country.
It was noted that the lease area of Garbham Manganese Mine covers 654 acres, with RINL's annual manganese consumption of about 6,000 tonnes. Manganese is a critical component used in blast furnaces for the production of pig iron.
