Hindalco Industries will invest $10 billion in its expansion plans, which include expanding its aluminium and copper smelter and continuing its work at Novelis. The announcement was made during the company’s annual general meeting held on August 22, 2024. The significant investment will be directed towards existing and future projects, reinforcing Hindalco’s commitment to growth and development.

Hindalco is setting up an alumina refinery in a greenfield area in Rayagada, Odisha, which will complete its first phase of 850,000 tonnes by FY27. Additionally, the company is considering a 200,000 tonnes expansion at its Aditya aluminium smelter in Odisha. Hindalco has also secured long-term contracts for new beverage bottling capacity for its Bay Minnette project, which is scheduled to come on stream in the second half of 2026.
