PM Modi launched and laid the groundwork for several developmental projects in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The projects, collectively valued at over Rs 8,000 crore, span across various sectors including railways, road, power, housing, and finance.
Modi inaugurated India’s first Namo Bharat Rapid Rail from Ahmedabad to Bhuj and launched several Vande Bharat trains. These new train routes include Nagpur to Secunderabad, Kolhapur to Pune, Agra Cantt to Banaras, Durg to Visakhapatnam, and Pune to Hubballi. In addition, a 20-coach Vande Bharat train from Varanasi to Delhi was also flagged off. Alongside these transport developments, he launched the Single Window IT System (SWITS) of the International Financial Services Centres Authority, aiming to streamline processes.
He recently initiated a host of key infrastructural projects. These include the quadrupling of the Samakhiali-Gandhidham and Gandhidham-Adipur railway lines designed to substantially improve transport connections. Also, in the pipeline is the development of iconic roads in AMC, Ahmedabad, aimed to boost the city’s connectivity and ease of transit. The inauguration also marked the beginning of construction of flyover bridges at Bakrol, Hathijan, Ramol, and Panjarpol Junction, designed to reduce traffic congestion and improve travel times. These infrastructure projects are expected to significantly enhance connectivity and transport efficiency in the region.
PM Modi has inaugurated a 30 MW solar system and a 35 MW BESS Solar PV Project at the Kutch Lignite Thermal Power Station, along with 220 kV substations at Morbi and Rajkot. In addition, he has sanctioned over 30,000 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Gramin initiative, releasing the initial installment for these homes. These actions mark significant steps towards improving the country’s infrastructure and promoting sustainable energy practices.
