More than 25,000 buildings in the Mumbai metropolitan region (MMR) with an estimated value of Rs 30,000 crore are qualified for redevelopment. Never a better opportunity to hold an exhibition so that societies can approach developers or CREDAI-MCHI.
In this regard, CREDAI-MCHI, the pinnacle body of property developers in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), has announced a first-of-its-kind exhibition named ‘Ease of Doing Redevelopment’ (EODR), to be held on September 28, 2024. The event aims to streamline the process of housing society redevelopment by bringing together key stakeholders. Housing societies will have a unique platform to directly interact with leading developers and Project Management Consultants (PMCs), potentially accelerating redevelopment projects across Mumbai.
Mumbai’s upcoming exhibition will feature over 40 leading developers including Rustomjee, Adani, Kolte Patil, Puravankara, Raymond Realty, Kalpataru, The Ashar Group, and more. This platform will provide a unique opportunity for housing society representatives to interact with redevelopment experts, address their concerns, and discover viable solutions. The event has already attracted registrations from over 500 housing societies across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
“The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India – Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry (CREDAI-MCHI) aims to make housing redevelopment in Mumbai more accessible through its ‘Ease of Doing Redevelopment’ initiative. The initiative will connect housing societies with trusted developers, government bodies, and experts. Over 40 reputed developers are actively participating in the initiative, reflecting CREDAI-MCHI’s commitment to transforming Mumbai’s skyline and aligning with government sustainable urban development policies,” said Domnic Romell, president of CREDAI-MCHI, who believes the initiative presents significant opportunities and challenges for Mumbai’s housing societies.
Dhaval Ajmera, secretary of CREDAI-MCHI, has emphasised the importance of redevelopment in rejuvenating Mumbai’s outdated infrastructure. “The organisation is committed to simplifying the redevelopment process for housing societies, with firm support from the government. This involves connecting developers and societies to expedite and enhance transparency in redevelopment projects,” he added.
The event is supported by government bodies such as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), and the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA).
