Elaborating further he added that these strategically located roads are part of the Indo-China border road projects and the government has already earmarked the funds for the construction of these roads in the current Budget. The topography on this side of the Himalayas is tough and rugged with steep hilly terrain coupled with inclement weather conditions and takes more than double time and money to carry out task in the region. The BRO has deployed more manpower and resources to speed up the road construction but speed is still lacking the required momentum. For overcoming transportation bottlenecks the road building body has started airlifting the required machinery and equipment to inaccessible areas of Arunachal Pradesh and other north eastern states including Ladakh and also to certain border belts of Himachal Pradesh to speed up the construction of all weather roads ensuring maintaining uninterrupted logistical supply lines.
