In this connection, the Doosan had inked a pact with creditors of Austria's AE&E group to acquire its India based boiler manufacturing plant for 20.5 million Pound to strengthen its presence in the country's energy generation market. Apart from this, the company had also bagged Tata Power's orders to supply five supercritical boiler of 800mw each followed by an equipment order from GMR Energy for its thermal power plant at Raipur in Chhattisgarh. In addition to BHEL, which is the country's biggest government controlled power equipment manufacturer, there are scores of other players in the private sector including Larsen & Toubro and Japan's Mitsubishi heavy Industries, Alstom and Bharat Forge joint venture, Toshiba and JSW, Thermax Babcock & Wilcox, besides Gammon Ansaldo joint venture, which is setting up boiler manufacturing plant in the same state.
