Acute shortage of staff in jails: CAG report

Patna : PATNA: The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India has pointed out extreme shortage of staff in Bihar jails which is adversely affecting the management of the prisons. It has also expressed concern over inordinate delay in setting up the open jail at Buxar which was expected to be completed by December. This formed part of its report for the year ending March 2010 which was tabled in the state assembly on Wednesday.
