Alstom bags Rs. 270cr hydro power contract

Vadodara : The France-based power equipment manufacturing giant, Alstom has secured three hydro power projects at an investment of Rs. 270cr. In a series of contract grabbing exercise the company has secured the first contract from the Shiga Energy for setting up 97mw Tashiding hydroelectric project in Sikkim in the north eastern region of the country and the second contract it won from NSL Tidong Power Generation for 100mw Tidong-I hydro project in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. Similarly, for the third contract it has signed an agreement with Haridwar Infrastructure for a project with a capacity of 96mw for the Dikchu hydroelectric project in Sikkim. After securing these contracts the company will be able to support the government to strengthen and promote power industry in reducing carbon emissions across the country, India Managing Director and Vice Chairman Francois Carpentier said adding that all the equipment would be manufactured at Alstom's Vadodara facility in Gujarat.
