India's eight core industries grow by 5.2% in June 2011

New Delhi : India's eight core industries grew by 5.2 per cent in June 2011 as compared to a growth of 4.4 per cent registered in the same month of last year, an official statement said here today, quoting provisional data. The Index of Eight Core Industries (base 2004-5=100), having a combined weight of 37.90 per cent in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP), stood at 138.98 in June 2011, it said.
