Steel makers to add 30 mn tonne capacity by FY13

New Delhi : Major steel producers such as Steel Authority of India (SAIL), Tata Steel, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam (RINL), JSW Steel, JSPL, Essar Steel, among others, are likely to add about 30 million tonne per annum new capacity by March, 2013, Parliament has been informed. Out of this, major contribution will come from state-run SAIL, which will add about 8.14 million tonne capacity by the end of 2012-13, Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma said in a written reply to Lok Sabha yesterday.
