JSW Steel closes two plants in K'taka after SC order

India's largest non-state steel producer has cut down its overall steel production by over 40% and will be forced to cut down further unless it makes alternate arrangements for raw materials.

A dozen other iron and steel manufacturers like Kalyani Steel, Kriloskar Ferrous, Tata Metallic, Mukund Steel, Sesa Goa, Goa Sponge, Shrada Ispat, Shritik Ispat and Ambe Metallics Limited, which use iron ore from the region, are also expected to be impacted.
