Carlson to open Radisson Blu Hotel Dehradun, Uttarakhand in Q2 2014

Mumbai : Thursday, August 25, 2011, 12:00 Hrs [IST] Mumbai:Carlson, a family-owned global hospitality and travel company, has signed Radisson Blu Hotel Dehradun Uttarakhand. The USD 25 million Radisson Blu Hotel Dehradun is owned by Sir Biotech India Limited and comprises 125 rooms. According to the company release, construction of the hotel will commence in September this year and it is expected to open in the second quarter of 2014. Radisson Blu Hotel Dehradun will be the first international hotel in the city.

The six-storey hotel will be designed by Italian architect Giampiero Peia. Dining options will include an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty Indian restaurant, a bar and a contemporary lobby lounge.

“The signing of this hotel brings our India portfolio, both open and under development to 89 hotels with more than 10,000 rooms,” said Simon C Barlow, President, Carlson Hotels, Asia Pacific. “We are delighted to continue to be the number one international hotel operator in India. Our plan is to open 100 hotels in India by 2015, as part of Carlson’s Ambition 2015 growth strategy,” he added.
