Vasavadatta Cement unveils Rs. 1,000cr expansion

Bachpalli : Vasavadatta Cement, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Kesoram Industries Limited in a recent move has decided to effect capacity addition to the tune of 2 million tons per annum entailing an investment of Rs. 1,000cr, Senior President, K C Jain, said adding that the company’s manufacturing unit at Sedam in Karnataka currently has six million tons of cement making capacity and with the proposed expansion its capacity will go up to 8 million tons as the company has recently inaugurated new cement packing unit at Bachpalli area of Andhra Pradesh.

He further added that the new packaging unit had been built at an investment of Rs. 10cr and can pack 60,000 tons of cement a months of the Birla Shakti brand which will be brought ordinarily Portland cement from its manufacturing unit in Karnataka and the product is meant to be distributed in various parts of Andhra Pradesh.
