Tata Chemicals rises on expansion plans

Mumbai : Tata Chemicals has opened 1 percent higher at Rs 336 in otherwise extremely weak market after the company said its US subsidiary has tied up with FMC Corporation and Church & Dwight to set up a manufacturing facility of sorbents, used for air pollution control, with an investment of 60 million dollar (about Rs 297 crore).

"Tata Chemicals (Soda Ash) Partners, Church & Dwight and FMC Corporation have signed a definitive agreement to form a partnership to manufacture and market sodium-based dry sorbents for air pollution control in electric utility and industrial boiler operations," company said in a statement.
