Shakti Sadan,SJVN Limited, a Mini Ratna, Category-I and Schedule –‘A’ CPSE under administrative control of Ministry of Power, Govt. of India, was incorporated on May 24, 1988 as a joint venture of the Government of India (GOI) and the Government of Himachal Pradesh (GOHP). SJVN is now a listed Company having shareholders pattern of 59.92 % with Govt. of India, 26.85% with Govt. of Himachal Pradesh and rest of 13.23 % with Public. The present paid up capital and authorized capital of SJVN is Rs. 3,929.80 Crore and Rs. 7,000 Crore respectively. The Net Worth as on 31.03.2022 is Rs.13128.61 Crore.
SJVN Limited aims to be a 5000 MW company by 2023, 25000 MW company by 2030 and 50000 MW company by 2040. Presently, total project portfolio of SJVN is 40,998 MW, out of which 2016.5 MW is under operation, 4526 MW is under Construction, 16749 MW is under Pre-construction and S&I stage. Capacity of 5097 MW identified by MoP, GoI in Dibang basin of Arunachal Pradesh and Pumped Storage projects (PSPs) of 12610 MW capacity are under allotment.
SJVN Limited commissioned 86 km long 400 kV double circuits Indo-Nepal Cross Border Power Transmission corridor between Sursand (Indo-Nepal border) and Muzaffarpur on 19.02.2016 in JV – Cross-border Power Transmission Company (CPTC) - with Power Grid, IL&FS Energy Development Company and Nepal Electricity Authority.
