East Delhi civic body mandates C&D waste disposal at C&D plant only

The East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) has ordered the disposal of Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste from construction or renovation buildings only at the proposed waste disposal plant.

Shyam Sunder Aggarwal, mayor of EDMC, told media that 68 designated points had previously been set aside in Delhi for the removal of construction and demolition waste. Under the new order, the owners or builders of the construction or renovation sites only need to dispose of the construction and demolition waste at the Shastri Park waste disposal facility.

He added that the builders or owners would have to ferry the waste to the waste processing plant at their own cost.
