Disposal machines will be installed in various parts of Pune to collect recyclable waste, such as plastic bottles, glass bottles, metal cans and plastic wrappers. The Standing Committee of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has approved the innovative plan of the startup company Ecomax Go.
These ATMs will collect recyclable waste. It will also help ease the burden on door-to-door waste collection.
To participate in this project, citizens need to register with this machine with their mobile phone number. It must then be indicated which type of waste must be selected. A plastic bottle costs Rs one, a glass bottle costs Rs three, metal cans cost Rs two each and plastic wrappers cost 20 paise each.
Free Wi-Fi will be available 24 hours a day, the ability to open a new bank account, purchase a new SIM card and purchase movie, train and bus tickets at the location where these machines will be installed. ATM waste is disposed of in a scientifically responsible manner.
The ATM has a height of 1.80 meters and a width of 1.2 meters. There will be three screens on this machine. The next screen displays data on machine usage, municipal ads, and ads from other companies. South Delhi, North Delhi and Varanasi are all home to these machines. According to Hemant Rasne, chairman of the PMC Standing Committee, 40 machines will be installed in public places in the city of Pune in phases over three years and over 10 years.
