The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has announced the Swachh Innovative Technology Challenge based on the government's Swachh Technology Challenge under the Swachh Bharat mission.
All residents of Navi Mumbai, including students, NGOs, educational institutions, start-ups, civil society, IT and non-IT companies, can participate in this challenge.
To participate, citizens must present innovative technical projects on waste separation, collection, disposal, fertilizer generation, recycling, zero-waste, plastic waste management, improved solid waste management systems and increasing people's participation.
NMMC Commissioner Abhijit Bangar said that with the help of this challenge, the company wants innovative ideas to improve waste management in Navi Mumbai using technology and to use these creative ideas. Citizens and organizations should present their ideas noticeably at national level.
The top three engineering projects will be sent for the state-level challenge, from which the best idea will be sent for the national competition.
He said this challenge would provide the current process, project implementation viability, project feasibility, cost and use effectiveness, and availability of the material to implement the concept while the concept was being assessed.
The participating citizens have to fill in their details on the online portal and upload their technical projects. The project must contain images, videos, and presentations of up to five files of 1 MB each. The challenge is valid from 15 to 31 December.
