The pandemic has changed the way amenities like elevators, escalators, and walkalators are seen — and how! According to Shabbir Kanchwala, Senior Vice President, K Raheja Corp, the pandemic has made people more aware of the dangers of contamination through physical contact. "A natural counterpart to this danger has been the introduction of non-contact elevator call buttons, destination dispatch systems and the installation of ultraviolet (UV) light sanitizing capabilities in projects." The company has stepped up security measures and modified SOPs to include the new guidelines.
