The city of Patiala will undergo a full repair of old water pipes under the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board canal water supply project of Rs 503 crore.
According to the officials, half of the project work has been completed while the remaining work will be completed after uprooting the 360 km of urban roads for the drinking water supply.
Officials said the project includes the construction of a 17.28 million liter clear water reservoir, a 236 million liter storage and sedimentation tank and the installation of a 360 km long new pipeline with 12 overhead tanks and 16 underground tanks.
The project work is approximately 40% complete.
