WABAG gets repeat order for Jamnagar desalination plant

Water treatment player VA Tech Wabag (WABAG) has won a repeat order worth approximately Rs 430 crore from Reliance Industries (RIL) for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a 53 MLD desalination plant in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

The work of EPC under this contract includes our project, engineering, purchase, delivery, construction, assembly, pre-commissioning, commissioning and performance guarantee test run of the Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) factory, planned to be welded in the buildings of RIL's refinery in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

WABAG has already outsourced a 24 MLD SWRO factory in the same building, the company noted. This installation, which is expected to be completed over a period of 21 months, will apply pre-treatment in the form of lamella clearance, filtration and ultrafiltration, followed by reverse osmosis technologies to convert seawater into process water.
