Officials of the groundwater department board claim that water level in areas like Rajapur, Colonelganj, Tagoretown, Nyay Marg, Dhoomanganj, Neewa, Naya Pura, Georgetown, Rasoolabad, Alahpur, Daraganj, South Malaka and Transport Nagar have shown a remarkable rise upto three to five metres. And the reason attributed to this is the incessant rains, which lashed the district this year.
ALLAHABAD: In a major relief to the citizens and officials of the Sangam city, the groundwater level has shown improvement both in the urban areas and rural areas. And has increased by two to five metres, as compared to 2010. Officials of the groundwater department board claim that water level in areas like Rajapur, Colonelganj, Tagoretown, Nyay Marg, Dhoomanganj, Neewa, Naya Pura, Georgetown, Rasoolabad, Alahpur, Daraganj, South Malaka and Transport Nagar have shown a remarkable rise upto three to five metres. And the reason attributed to this is the incessant rains, which lashed the district this year. The level of groundwater has also risen in rural areas including Jhunsi, Phulpur, Karchana, Chaka, Bahadurpur and Koraon.
