Govt decides to build deep seaport thru' PPP

New Delhi : Sep 9 2011:The shipping ministry has decided to build the much-talked-about multi-billion dollar deep seaport at Sonadia through public private partnership (PPP) as the cabinet committee is likely to approve it next week, officials said Thursday.

Shipping ministry officials said after series of discussions within the government we have decided to set up the Tk 550 billion seaport at Sonadia through PPP arrangement.

We have sought approval from the cabinet committee on economic affairs. The proposal will be tabled in the meeting of the cabinet committee Sunday," a senior shipping ministry official told the FE.
