Product: BRITEX PENPRIME is a water-based Primer composed of acrylic emulsion polymer, selected special additives in water as a medium. Recommended to be used as a primer coat for all brushable elastomeric waterproof membrane on porous parent concrete. BRITEX PENPRIME is a low viscous penetrating acrylic emulsion based primer with water repelling characteristics. The primer coat when applied on parent concrete will help in sealing the pores and also helps in proper adhesion of subsequent waterproofing coating systems. The primer coat aids in establishing designed coverage of top coats thereby desired thickness is achieved. Preparation : Surface for treatment must be thoroughly cleaned of all laitance, loose material, oil, grease, etc. Mechanical means such as wire brushing & shot blasting can be used. Finally, vacuum cleaning of all loose solids and liquids can be done if required. Cracks more than 5mm and all separation gaps should be filled up with BRITEX SBR or BRITEX PENPRIME modified mortar or as specified. Priming : To further improve waterproofing and bonding properties on porous substrates, we recommend BRITEX PENPRIME, a penetrating water repelling acrylic primer. BRITEX PENPRIME which ensures proper adhesion of all brushable elastomeric membrane when waterproofing is done on porous substrates. It also acts as a bond layer between elastomeric coating and substrate. Surfaces to be primed must be dried before treating with BRITEX PENPRIME. Application : Ready to use no dilution of water or other material is required and stir well until a uniform consistency is achieved. Apply a single coat of diluted BRITEX PENPRIME on the cleaned substrate & allow it to dry for 2 to 3 hours before commencing subsequent waterproofing coating system.
